FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Yes, you will need a ticket. We have three main sessions and you will be required to have a valid ticket for each session should you wish to come to all sessions

  • Tickets either need to be printed or have the QR code visible clearly on a smart phone

  • No alcoholic drinks will be permitted. There will be plenty of bars at the event.

  • Guide/Assistance dogs are permitted, but no other animals are allowed on site.

  • If you are a photographer looking to apply for photography/media access at the event then please email your request to info@oktoberfestcolchester.co.uk

  • The last entry time is 2 hours after the venue doors open.

  • VIP table tickets include entry for up to 10 people with a reserved 10ft round table (10 people maximum per table) for the best experience with all of your friends.

    We have a team of waiters/waitresses dressed for the occasion who will provide you with table service. You won't even have to step up to the bar!

    VIP tables are situated immediately in front of the stage giving you the best Oktoberfest experience you can get. You're so close you can almost touch the stage!

  • We encourage you all to dress up! Lederhosen is welcome! We have even seen some halloween spirit on the final weekend of October in the past.

  • Unfortunately no food will be permitted into the venue. We have big enough buns and large enough sausages to go around!

  • You can buy a 2 pint stein from the bar which you can keep after you leave! Alternatively you can buy a beer, 2 pint or 1 pint, in a regular plastic cup.

  • Chairs of any kind are not permitted. If you think you will need/want seating, please look at buying an unreserved seating ticket, or a VIP table.


  • Please see the below list of prohibited items. All of the below items will be confiscated. Confiscated items will not be returned. Anyone that resists confiscation of disallowed items may be evicted.

    • Aerosols

    • Air Horns

    • Alcohol

    • Animals (other than registered guide or hearing dogs)

    • Any item which may reasonably be considered for use as a weapon

    • Audio Recorders

    • Cameras with detachable lens or recording equipment

    • Chinese or Sky Lanterns

    • Excessive amounts of food or cigarettes may be refused entry to the site

    • Fireworks

    • Flares

    • Garden furniture, deckchairs, fold up chairs or shooting sticks

    • Glass

    • Illegal substances

    • Knives

    • Large Umbrellas or Flag Poles

    • Legal Highs

    • Medications - unless in sealed, unbroken packaging

    • Megaphones

    • Nitrous Oxide

    • Open and sealed containers of liquid/water/soft drinks/food etc

    • Portable Laser Equipment or Pens

    • Smoke Canisters

    • Sound systems

    • Spray Cans

    • Un-authorised Professional Film or Video Equipment

    • Unofficial tabards or reflective jackets

  • We will have First Aid & Welfare services available on site. Please Visit the First Aid & Welfare tents on site with any healthcare issues during the event.

  • All bars will be cashless so will take card payments only.

    Food traders may not take card so we advise to bring cash with you although there will be cash machines on site.

  • There will be no readmission for any customers. If you leave, you will not be allowed to return.
